Last Voyage of the Demeter
"Dracula: The Last Voyage of the Demeter" tells the tale of the fateful voyage that brought Dracula to England in Bram Stoker's novel of the same name. Melbourne-based playwright Sean Carney has taken an unexplored part of the vampire count's story and expanded it into a chilling one act show.
Sporadic Productions presents this account of a doomed sea captain, his fracturing crew, and their undead stowaway, bringing a deep, character driven horror / drama to the Adelaide Fringe. |

Midway To Nowhere
Australia, winter, 1952, and a group of New Australians, migrants from devastated post-war Europe, awaits release from the limbo of life in an Australian migrant camp. These include Greeks, Italians and Serbs. Recent rioters have burnt down camp buildings, triggering armoured intervention by the army. Powerless, the migrants wage war against the camp administration, each other and themselves. Based on actual events at Bonegilla, the most famous of all migrant camps, “Midway to Nowhere” relates a chapter in Australia’s history whose telling is well overdue. This exciting new play is at turns funny, sad, angry and painful. A play that will appeal on many levels: historically, sociologically; and philosophically, it is a play for all times and all Australians, old and new.
